SUMMARY:Bash is a sh compatible shell used in Unix like environments.
This shell provides a very powerful scripting language which provides a super set of features of the standard Bourne shell. In addition, it is available on most platforms.
The bash package can be installed on many Linux systems using the up2date command as shown below:

SUMMARY:More than just an editor, its a way of life.
This highly configurable editor, does a pretty good job at working with (and validating) XML documents that have an associated DTD (it doesn't work with XML schema files). It has a rather steep learning curve and setup time in comparison to other editors - but its worth it.
The emacs package can be installed on many Linux systems using the up2date command as shown below:
